Big corporate office projects for the likes of Toyota, State Farm Insurance and Liberty Mutual Insurance have made North Texas one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the country.
More than 8 million square feet of office buildings — the equivalent of a half dozen large downtown skyscrapers — are being built in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
And more corporate campuses are in the works to start next year, real estate brokers say.
In past economic cycles, many of these major businesses building in D-FW would have taken off-the-shelf office space in existing buildings.
But changes in business culture and labor demands are creating a new generation of offices for large employers.
